SYDNEY, Dec 6 AAP - A taxidriver has died in an early morning crash in Sydney's north-west.

His Ford Falcon taxi and a a truck carrying an empty skip bin collided at the intersection
of New Line Road and Purchase Road in Cherrybrook at about 4.35 (AEDT) this morning.

The taxidriver sustained multiple injuries and died at the scene.

The 41-year-old truck driver from Glenorie is being treated for shock.

Police currently have no witnesses of the crash.

The collision on a four-lane section of New Line Road has blocked both southbound lanes,
but the northbound lanes are not affected.

Police hope to have one lane of traffic flowing as soon as possible but expect peak-hour
