NT: Two men killed in stabbing incidents

SYDNEY, April 6 AAP - Two men have died in separate stabbing incidents near Alice Springs
in the Northern Territory.

A 35-year-old man died after being stabbed during a disturbance involving four men
at about 9pm last night, Northern Territory Police said.

A 20-year-old man was also injured in the incident and was taken to Alice Springs hospital
with a stab wound.

The two men were sitting with a group of people in vacant parkland near the intersection
with the Stuart Highway and Gap Road in Alice Springs when they were approached by four
men and a fight erupted, police said.

The four offenders are described as men of Aboriginal appearance aged in their mid to late 20s.

In a separate incident, a 44-year-old man was found dead from an apparent stab wound
at a residence near Jay Creek, 45km south-west of Alice Springs.

Police are urging witnesses or anyone with any information on either incident to call
Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
