Vic: Bashed man fights back with knife

MELBOURNE, April 10 AAP - A man who was dragged from his car and set on by eight men,
picked up a knife dropped by one of his attackers and stabbed two of them, Victoria Police
say.

The 20 year-old man was sitting in his car outside a house in Granite Way, Dahlia,
in Melbourne's northwest, around 11.P.M. (AEST) on Thursday waiting for his girlfriend
when the men surrounded his car.

Police said he was dragged out of the vehicle and severely beaten by the group.

They said that during the attack the man saw a knife dropped by one of his assailants
and picked it and used it defend himself.

He suffered severe bruising and lacerations to the face and hands, and a possible broken jaw.

Two men, aged 17 and 18, were taken to Sunshine Hospital by an unknown woman and treated
for knife wounds to the hands and back.
